A-Z Challenge

Scouring Writer

I've been a busy little writer over the last decade, sometimes here at Scouring Monk, and sometimes in spin-off blogs that are still available to read for free.

One of my biggest projects was a three year stint accepting the NaNoWriMo challenge, in the Novembers of 2004-2006, when I completed The Cloak of Shrouded Men, the book I subsequently published in 2007 after writing:

  • Colinaude, the Angry Avenger, in which Cotton Colinaude, the Eidolon, discovers that his heroic career is about to completely unravel.
  • Repose of the Eidolon, in which Cotton learns the immediate psychological fallout of his fall from grace.
  • Cotton's War, in which Cotton's adopted city of Traverse experiences the conclusion of his decision to try and find a lasting peace.
I've also written four poetry blogs, what I called web idylls, each consisting of one hundred poems (some of them had a few more added in after they came to their natural ends):
As an added bonus, I have an incomplete novella, Leopold's Concentration, that may or may not interest you.

In addition, I have two unpublished manuscripts and a third that has a publisher attached.

  • Finnegan, in which a vampire clashes with a priest, his sister, a pirate, and a modern-day Van Helsing. Much literary writing ensues.
  • Ecce Homo, in which Adam and Eve are examined as thinking individuals, their offspring Cain and Abel try to establish the pattern for the rest of humanity, and world history is explored through the unlikely individuals who also had experiences with the divine.
  • Yoshimi, in which yours truly envisions a pastiche on Harry Potter, Kill Bill, and Peter Parker.  Slated to be published by Hall Bros. Entertainment. (Excerpt #1, Excerpt #2, Excerpt #3)
